FAQ
(aka “Clay Questions You Were Too Shy to Ask”)
📍 250 Carlaw Ave, Unit 105 — aka The Home of Happy Hands & Muddy Jeans.
1. I’ve never touched clay before… is that okay?
Totally fine! Most of our students are first-timers. We’ll walk you through everything — just show up with an open mind.
Disclaimer: making pottery is a long process, cracks are normal! So what do I do?
We would love everyone to take home their perfect piece! If something bad happens during the process, we like to offer make-up classes that are 30 mins in length and provide everything you need to make a new piece.
2. How do I book a class?
Easy! Head to our website or drop us a DM on Instagram. Classes fill up fast, so don’t wait till your inner artist strikes at midnight. 😉
3. What should I wear?
Something comfy and clay-friendly. We’ve got aprons, but let’s be real — clay will find a way onto your sleeves. (It’s part of the fun.)
4. When do I get my masterpieces back?
Good things take time — and firing schedules. Your pieces will be ready in about 4–6 weeks. We’ll message you when they’re out of the kiln and looking fabulous.
5. Can I bring a friend/date/partner in crime?
Yes, yes, and yes. Just make sure everyone books their own spot so nobody’s left wheel-less.
6. What if I can’t make it?
Life happens — we get it! Late cancellations may not be refundable, but we’ll always try to make it right 💛 (Full scoop in the refund policy link below!)
7. Do you do private events or parties?
Absolutely! Birthdays, team bonding, girls’ nights, awkward first dates — we’ve seen it all. Message us for private booking info!
8. Can I glaze my own work?
Yup! Once your piece is bisque-fired, you can come back for a glazing session and make it shine (or stay matte — we love both).
9. Do you sell pottery or gift cards?
Yes! Treat yourself or a fellow clay lover. Check out our handmade pieces and gift cards in the studio or online.
10. What happens if I don’t pick up or glaze my piece within 1 month? Can I ask for extra storage time?
Unfortunately, pieces that are not picked up or glazed within the shelving period may be discarded or removed from our shelves to make space for new pieces. But if you know you’ll need more time, please contact us before the 1-month period ends. We’ll do our best to accommodate your request, but extensions are not guaranteed.
11. Will you send me a reminder?
Yes! We’ll send a reminder when your piece is ready or ready to pick up. Please make sure we have your correct contact information.
